What we do

TDO is a creative architecture and design studio in Southwark, London. The practice was founded by Tom Lewith, Doug Hodgson and Owen Jones in 2010.

In 2012 we moved into our railway arch where we built our current studio. Our portfolio balances contemporary insertions into historic settings, with off-site manufactured homes. We’re drawn to projects which invite us to use our imagination, our energy and our skills, to marry thoughtful and considered architecture with the opportunities each project presents.

Our work is characterised by simple forms, intersecting geometries and exposed materials, reflecting our belief in architecture’s potential to bring clarity amid complexity. We work on projects of all types, looking at every aspect of a brief until we find clear, inventive solutions.

Every TDO project starts with an open mind, and we enjoy investigating and challenging conventions. As a practice, we are quick and agile, able to adapt our ways of working and designing to changing circumstances, such as the shifting economy and the climate crisis. Understanding that even buildings’ functions are in flux at times like these, we build flexibility into our designs to ensure a lasting legacy. We’re committed to adding value for our clients and delivering design that goes beyond everyone’s expectations.
